Police parades suspected robbers, kidnappers in Anambra

      The police in Anambra State have arrested a total of 14 armed robbers and 6 kidnap suspects this October.

The state commissioner of Police, Bala Nasarawa, disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the Police Headquarters in Awka, the Anambra State on Monday.
Included in their records of achievements and activities in the month of October also is the recovery of numerous arms and ammunition and the deaths of two suspected robbers and three kidnappers.
The arrested suspects were paraded at the SARS division of the police command at Awkuzu, Oyi local government area of the state alongside the three dead suspected kidnappers.

Mr Nasarawa said among the arms and ammunition recovered from the suspected criminals included, two AK47 rifles, four locally-made pistol and 300 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition among others.
At the SARS Division in Awkuzu were the suspects were paraded, some of the suspects spoke to newsmen on their alleged involvement in sundry crimes.
Obinna Okafor, 34 said he was doing palm kernel business in Malaysia before he got involved in kidnapping and was arrested. Watch the video clip of him below.
Another suspect, Ifeanyi Okeke said he has monitored three operations with his friend whom he called Okechukwu, who also lent him N400, 000 but maintained he did not know why he was arrested. Watch video below.
Two of the suspects are natives of Oraifite and strong allies of the dreaded kidnap kingpin, Olisa Ifejika, alias Ofeakwu, who was arrested last month.
The police command appealed to the people of the state to continue assist in matters of security with useful information in order to help create a crime free Anambra state.
