Visual art and Nigeria`s economy


 


Visual art has been identified as a tool capable of transforming Nigeria’s economy.This is the view of stakeholders at the tenth annual lecture of the national gallery of Arton, Wednesday in Abuja.The Annual lecture tagged “scanning for antidote: the pre-cancerous state of visual arts in Nigeria today” was delivered by Professor Ola Oloide who says people need to be encouraged on visual art.                                                                                          The Minister who was represented by the permanent Secretary of the ministry says, there is need for a radical shift from a static to a dynamic way of viewing the sector.                      
Director General of National Gallery of Arts, Abdullahi Muku said. The event was aimed at unveiling the huge benefit in the visual.                                                                             Participants were entertained with cultural performance and dance drama tagged “together we stand divided we fall”.
